Barbuda

This was a quick stop due to the anchorage being untenable.

The 11 mile beach is beautiful and long and pretty deserted, but lets face it, it is just a beach!

We sailed 30 miles and even got the kite up. We caught a Barracuda which we had to put back, but were impressed that we managed to snuffer the kite and reel in a fish. Barracuda have a toxin called Cigutera along we spanish mackerel and cero which we caught the next day.

We arrived abot 3pm and went to the beach which was interesting as the waves broke onto the beach. We anchored the dinghy off and swam for it.

The boys enjoyed body baording and surfing on the canoe. We enjoyed a beer.

None of us enjoyed being thrown around all night at anchor and we left the next morning for Cocoa Point, but the heavy swell and wind on the nose made it uncomfortable and with no promise of better shelter we bashed the 30 miles back to Antigua. We anchored in Deep Bay arriving at 3pm.
